Community energy

Black Mountains Community energy

How will the scheme be developed?

First, we want to learn people’s thoughts – and concerns – about the impact of community-scale schemes in our area through a series of local consultation events.  We will also set up a volunteer community advisory group to work with us.

This will give us the support to seek funding for a professional feasibility study. Based on the outcomes of the consultation events this study will produce options (locations, power output, income) for further discussion.

To take the scheme further forward it will then be necessary for the community advisory group to develop a plan for the financial model and organisation structure, and raise some money.

We’ve finished our 6 events, visiting villages in the 5 councils region, Crickhowell, Cwmdu, Glangrwyney, Llangattock and Llangynidr. Discussing the need for large scale renewable energy.

We will be going to some of the local summer and autumn shows. Come and talk to us to find out more and please tell your friends and family.

If you’re part of a group who’d be interested in having us along to discuss renewable energy, please get in touch info@llangattockgreenvalleys.org
